My mother had asked me long ago never to put her in an assisted living facility, so when she said that she was lonely in her home in Florida, there was no question that she would come live me and my family in Toronto. However, she has short-term memory loss, making it was dangerous to leave her alone in our house while my husband and I went to work. She would forget that the stove was on and wander off leaving a pan on the burner, or forget that she had already taken her medications and try to take them again, etc. It became very difficult for me to work, because I was constantly worried about her. I started missing work on her “bad” days, because I could not leave her alone at all. I was really starting to feel desperate when a colleague at work suggested that I call Arcadia Senior Care. He told me that Arcadia was set up to deal with situations just like mine.

 

From the moment I spoke to Rohit, I felt much better. He explained that Arcadia could set up a care plan for my mother, with carefully chosen caregivers who could provide a watchful eye, help her around the house, help her prepare meals, and keep her active and occupied. The two caregivers Arcadia found for my mother are everything I could hope for. They are warm, friendly, caring, intelligent people who are just nice to be around. I have noticed an improvement in my mother’s condition—she is at a healthier weight, walks outside more, and takes more of an interest in things going on around her. In fact my husband and I recently went on our first vacation in three years, because I was confident that my mother was in good hands.

 

I am relieved, pleased and, above all, grateful for the positive change that Arcadia has made for my mother and our family.

As one temporarily disabled and bed-ridden by a fall causing head injury and concussion that shook up my entire system, the care, comfort and care I received from Arcadia Senior Care and their intervention with the various care agencies on my behalf are truly unforgettable. I will always be grateful.

 

During that same period I also developed acute hernia discomfort. Once again Arcadia worked on my behalf interceding in arranging the necessary surgery on my behalf, saving time and unnecessary distress.

 

Let me add: the staff they supply for personnel comfort and assistance are in a class by themselves. Special mention to Rohit himself and his ever willing and helpful right-hand Margaret. I cannot recommend them too highly.
